Saturday Pace Group Run Nov 12

Hey

What a weekend... Congratulations to all our returning runners from Rock N Roll Savannah and NYC Marathon!!!!
We sent 15 runners to Savannah, so as you can imagine we came back with a lot of stories and pictures, not to mention some great runs and some pretty good PR's! In the half Dana, Stephanie,Whitney, Lea Anne had great runs with Toni, Rachel, and Marua tearing up the course with some impressive PR's. The full course proved to be a little tougher than expected due to the wind in your face last few miles, however Krystal,Kevin, Tim,Sally,Hung ran solid times..Philip,Stephanie and I all ran PR's. Yes it is true I did run a BQ and somehow got 3rd in my age group (not very many people in my age group left).
Last but not least... Special thanks to Krystal who put together the Paula Dean's Dinner Saturday night. Thanks Krystal!!
While we didn't send as many to NY our NYC runners did us proud and Adriana, CeCe, Jen, and Sally all had solid performances and from what they tell me they have a lot of stories and pictures to share.
Also Congrats to everyone who held down the fort last weekend and ran long..... so this week we all get to cut back on mileage this week.

This way it will not clog up the sender's or the receiver's mail.
Track Shack 10k/5k- This Sunday is the Founder's Day 10k/5k in Celebration. Racing is good training option this weekend, IF you are NOT in Recovery Mode, as it's a short run for those in training mode. For those of you in Recovery Mode; however, not such a good idea!

Reminders if you're going 20+ this weekend:
*Have a dependable alarm clock;
*Drink up...even though our heat & humidity have moderated, Hydrate all day, every day;
*Eat well and try to get some rest prior to the weekend;
*Figure out your pre-race meals...what gives you the best fuel? Same goes with your post run meal...
*Try out those race-day clothes...don't wait for race weekend;
*Body Glide - lube up!
*Bring your supplements...again, try out which ones work for you now, don't experiment on race day;
*Post run ice bath or swim...you'll have a better recovery.
*PACE: the goal is "easy and comfortable." We want to complete the mileage and feel reasonably well at the finish. Even if you feel great at the start, hold yourself back until the second half of the run, then pick it up a bit.
Where ever you're running this weekend, enjoy and good luck!
